The last day of work

was a depressing one.

aarrggh!! i just hate last days. its so heartbreaking leaving everything familiar and going back to school.

I've had a great time these 11 weeks, the people there are so wonderfully nice and patient and helpful.
There's not much stress also (ok i know! contradicting my last entry. but its really nothing compared to stress at sch),
everyday during lunch can eat delicious food and walk around the malls window shopping,
after work just go back and sleep and its a new day. Wonderful!

it was the last of everything familiar:
1) Last time taking the green line (going back to school have to take red line again)
2) Last time taking shuttle bus to suntec from Cityhall MRT (thanks to this bus, i pespire less everyday and save water: suntec is 20 mins walk from cityhall)
3)Last time saying good morning to the receptionist (she is so sweet lorz!)
4) Last time sitting at my desk (haiz)
5) Last time looking at my beautiful ocean desktop and screensaver with snow falling on trees
6) Last time walking to the pantry and looking at the beautiful view downstairs (the view is breathtaking!)
7) Last time having lunch with my attachment mates sok ling and cheryl (will miss them lots, they are great company!)
well... still a lot more but if i write it all down the entry will be super long :P

too bad i couldn't see my boss for the last time today, he didn't come at all. oh well. I also didn't have any work today to do so I was reading blogs and newspapers and going for toilet breaks (a bit sick of the toilet later) and talking to people in the office the entire day.

Before lunch, we three gals went to find MAY which is a joy to talk to coz she's a big hello kitty fan like me! =)
She was so nice la, she took out a boz full of handmade bracelets, earrings and bangles and told us to choose! for free! she made one leh.. supposed to sell but she gave us. I chose a pink diamond and pearl bracelet, sok ling picked the same except it was green and Cheryl decided on purple earrings.
It was so hard choosing, the accessories were all nice.
oh ya, MAY is an even bigger Hello Kitty fan than me =) her whole desk is full of it!
figurines, plant, scissors, scotch tape, lanyard holder.. name it she got it!

Off to lunch then!
After a super delicious lunch at the alley near bugis at PIVDOFR (food not bad), I was pleasantly surprised by my colleague after coming back.
He handed me a smoothie from coffee bean in a paper bag and said it was from my department. oh my gosh! so gan dong man. He said there was still a cake but the person holding it couldn't be found.
Afterwards.. he gave me a Royce paper bag with this nicely wrapped present inside and said it was a chocolate cake. All from my dept =)
i dont think i can ever bear to eat it coz im so afraid i will forget about this present :(

around 2 plus, i sneaked out of the office (actually i don't really care coz no one would care abt a "last day" person) and went to candy empire!
I just had to give them something or i would regret it.

After aimlessly walking around in the shop, I found something really interesting ,Choc covered marshmallow with jam
cool hur? i decided to get it because it was unique and the price was pretty reasonable: 2 for $2.50. I bought around 4 packs.
Halfway back while crossing the road, I remembered the receptionist and the cleaning auntie whom i enjoyed talking to everyday and then I recalled the golden heart-shaped chocolate at candy empire. ( actually thought of buying that for my dept but got guys so not convenient :X)
then i siao siao cross the same road again and go back to candy empire to get the 2 lovely heart-shaped chocolate wrapped in golden foil.
When I went to the cashier, I suddenly realised that I only had 2 bucks left and each heart cost $1.80. HOW????
I dumbly stared at the cashier while she was waiting for payment and told her sadly i could only get one.

thank goodness man! because when i went back and ask the cleaning auntie if she ate chocolate, she said she couldn't eat. she asked me to eat somemore. =)
of course also feel bad couldn't give her anything :x

Before i knew it, it was 5pm.
1 more hour to leaving the company for good.

I started packing all my stuff: deleting all my private files in the com, placing my stationery in my bag, taking down the smiley face which i drew in the 3rd week, packing all my stuff.
When i finished, the desk looked so bare it was sad :(

After giving the chocolates to my colleagues and to kristine (the receptionist), i went to the pantry for the last time and looked at the view.
I could feel tears coming and I tried to stop them before I left.

Come 6pm, I reluctantly left my desk and said bye to everyone.
I'm gonna miss them all. haiz

at least I've got pictures in my camera that i brought today. heng ah!
i guess the good thing about leaving is that i won't have to squeeze in the morning and evening trains anymore =)

This is me, usually have a not so easy time adjusting and its always super hard to leave afterwards. sigh

To quote from my report: I have gained experience and knowledge that makes me better equipped to enter the industry after i graduate.

God is really so faithful! and i want to thank him for placing me in such a great company for my attachment.
It was great while it lasted. Alas, it is not my own career =x

This reminds me of a song by The All-American rejects: "Move Along" !
The lyrics don't make any sense but the point is to Move Along. haha
which is really hard to ignore when they keep singing the two words
Listen to it: http://www.allamericanrejects.com/media_music.asp (3rd song) ENJOY! =)
All the best to the people at General Electric =)
