I love you Mum and Dad!!
Thanks for such a wonderful time tonight!
We celebrated my birthday in advance at this great Japanese restaurant at Liang Court.
Tam-Po-Po
Wa! It was such a great experience.
We went through alot to get there.
It was not so convenient but the good thing about it is that we were able to see the beautiful S'pore river on our way there!
The scenery is like.. so breath-taking!
oh ya, did i mention there was a full moon tonight?
It just magnifies the beauty of the sky and the scenery. ahhhhhh~
back to the long trip there!
We had to take the train to outram and then change train to clarke quay and still walk to Liang Court.
In case, you're wondering, why I had to make my parents go to so much trouble just to go there.
The restaurant is no ordinary one ok!
I've been going there to celebrate my birthday every year since I was a child until dunno what happened 9? years ago and we stopped going.
I remember wearing my best sunday dress and going there to celebrate with my family.
I would order this kid's meal which was so delicious.
omg! special japanese spaghetti which is so diff from any spaghetti i've ever eaten, sliced egg, criss-cross fries, watermelon, yakult and the main ingredient: some beef thingy which i only found out today was a mixture of beef and pork. omg omg! The beef was the main reason why I wanted to go back to the restaurant today.
It is just so sumptous, yummy, lickin-good, omg omg omg!
So tonight, I was crossing my fingers and hoping that the restaurant was still there.
Imagine! 10 years already.
It was so good to be back at a place with happy memories where i always celebrated my birthday and i was madly taking pictures on our way there.
Taking pictures of the S'pore river, Liang Court, The restaurant, The food!
Even though Liang Court had changed from a busy mall last time to a sort of deserted place right now, the restaurant had not changed at all!
It was still located in this jap supermart where you had to walk in the supermart to reach it.
Exactly the same place, same design... but different name and owner!
My ma told me it used to be called Nan-to.
But now,.. it is called Tam-po-po. How different is that?
When I flipped through the menu looking for the kid's meal that I used to eat (not to order of course! just to see =P ), it was gone.
They replaced it with something that I would totally not order if I was a kid now.
Thank goodness they still have the beef and pork thingy- Hamberg steak!
I ordered that of course!
Pa had this chicken claypot rice thing and ma the eel claypot rice thing.
The hamberg steak was served with loads of veggies that I felt a bit annoyed trying to finish as it occupied half of the plate and which was more than the steak.
Even so, it was so worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! I was like smiling through my teeth the whole meal that after the meal my mouth felt so suan. ah-ha!
Best meal I had in ages!
After the meal, my pa suggested buying ice-cream from 7 eleven and walking along the S'pore river on our way to the Mrt.
The experience was just so great.
Besides the beautiful s'pore river, there was this unique boat restaurant called the "Lotus?? something" and I was thinking how wonderful it would be if we could eat there some time.
There were also many other riverside restaurants and it was so relaxing walking along the river that I forgot all about my upcoming tests and projs. such bliss!
I suggested to my pa that we go enjoy the s'pore river at least once a month and he agreed.
So! Singapore river and the beautiful scenery there, i'll be back!
I'm gan dong today that my parents would go through so much to make me happy.
They make me feel really loved and it is such a blessing to have them as parents.
I pray that I will love them as they have always loved me: as a precious treasure.
Thanks so much mum and dad!
